Dr. Fairouz Hussein

Dr. Fairouz Hussein is a full-time lecturer at Crown Institute of Higher Education (CIHE), where she imparts her extensive knowledge and expertise to students. Additionally, she holds the position of Associate Professor at Hashemite University (HU), where she has dedicated more than 18 years to teaching and academic development. Throughout her career, Dr. Hussein has supervised master’s students, examined master’s theses, and developed multiple courses. 

At CIHE, Dr. Hussein currently teaches a diverse range of courses including Advanced Cyber Security, Enterprise Systems Security, Fundamentals of Computability, and ICT103 Programming. She has been instrumental in developing several courses at CIHE, ensuring they meet rigorous industry standards. Furthermore, Dr. Hussein actively coordinates academic units within the institution. 

Dr. Hussein earned her PhD from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), focusing her dissertation on Action recognition and video summarization by submodular inference, which significantly contributed to her field. 

Her research interests encompass machine learning, cybersecurity, computer vision, image processing, greedy algorithms, and multimedia. Dr. Hussein has published extensively in reputable journals and conferences, bridging academic understanding with practical applications. 

Dr. Hussein’s research explores the impact of preprocessing techniques on machine learning performance, advancements in medical imaging using hybrid CLAHE-CNN deep neural networks, and frameworks for joint action recognition and video summarization. She has also conducted research on biometric authentication in e-assessment, automatic cheating detection using machine learning, and real-time carpooling systems. These accomplishments underscore her expertise and dedication to advancing technological applications and theoretical frameworks.
